Athan and I studied together at the University of Edinburgh. We co-hosted a podcast, The New Agora before we branched out in our own directions. We spoke with students, societies, faculty members, and other interesting people including an Iranian refugee to the UK and a former student of theology. After October 7th 2023 we organised an event to bring the various perspectives on the issue together in an attempt to cool the temperature on campus and seek the truth of the matter.
Now after a year and a half we sit down either side of the pond and start our conversation with the most significant political assassination in generations - not for want of trying, the weirdness surrounding the narrative, and how we should respond to a world where corruption reigns and it is in somebodies interest for us to be sick, in conflict with each other, ill-informed, and ill-equipped to get ourselves out of this.
This was a really fun conversation where we touch on some fundamental issues about how we move forward as individuals and as a society.
You can find more of Athan on his podcast The Athan Yanos Show.
Enjoy!
